Michaela A. Dinan, PhD

Associate Professor, Chronic Disease Epidemiology, YSPH

Dr. Dinan is a health services and disparities researcher specializing in the adoption and impact of emerging medical technology in cancer. She currently leads an NCI R01 investigating the use of oral anticancer agents in renal cell carcinoma and a 5-year American cancer Society RSG award in risk prediction in cancer survivors.

Dr. Dinan joined the YSPH faculty in the Department of Chronic Disease Epidemiology in January 2021. She is also a member of the Cancer Outcomes, Public Policy and Effectiveness Research Center and co-leads the Cancer Prevention and Control Program for the Yale Cancer Center.

Douglas Flora, MD, LSSBB, serves as the executive medical director of Oncology Services at St. Elizabeth Cancer Center and was recently named the Robert and Dell Ann Sathe Endowed chair in Oncology. Dr. Flora is a board member of the Kentucky Society of Clinical Oncology, Andy & JJ Dalton Foundation, and American Cancer Society Area Board for Ohio, West Virginia, and Northern Kentucky. 

He was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, graduating from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1999. Dr. Flora has been named a Cincinnati Magazine Top Doctor in hematology and oncology for the past 15 years. 

Alieu Nyassi, MS, ELOC

Assistant Vice President, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

St. Elizabeth Healthcare

Alieu Nyassi, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his current role as Assistant Vice President, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) with St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Northern Kentucky. A forward-thinking human resource, diversity, equity and inclusion and community health professional, Mr. Nyassi in equal parts thoughtful and strategic, providing vision, leadership, coordination and planning for the design, implementation, and ongoing review of an enterprise-wide plan to drive diversity and inclusion throughout the organization that is customer focused. Mr. Nyassi has established St. Elizabeth Healthcare as a regional leader in DE&I. He has spent the bulk of his time and energy fostering positive change within the healthcare space. Described by many as a genuine, caring leader who works tirelessly to bring people together, Mr. Nyassi is no doubt leaving an indelible mark on DE&I in healthcare. He has spent time with healthcare systems in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Ohio, before joining St. Elizabeth Healthcare.  

Committed to service to others, Mr. Nyassi is co-founder and Chairman of Young Enterprise Services (YES) Africa Foundation, has great international development experience, works to improve living standards of people in various parts Africa. YES Africa Foundation supports young people in Africa in education and skills development, employment and entrepreneurship. He also supports communities in Africa access primary healthcare services, build clean water systems through partnerships with international organizations and faith groups such as Hartford Memorial Baptist Church in Detroit, Operation Crossroads Africa, Inc. 

As a motivational speaker, he spoke and provided Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, including Cultural Awareness training at various organizations and conferences in the United States and Africa. He is a proud father of three; two daughters and a son. His favorite quote is from his late father: “There is nothing like strangers, they’re friends you’ve never met”. 

Aaron Steiner, MBA

Chief Operating Officer

Michiana Hematology Oncology

Aaron leads Michiana Hematology Oncology’s (MHO) clinical operations across the practice’s 8 locations, working with 16 physicians and APPs and over 170 staff. Aaron is accountable for the clinical team – including nursing, pharmacy, radiology, radiation oncology – and corporate functions including billing, finance, and IT. Aaron leads MHO’s market partnership activities and provides oversight for revenue cycle management. He works with the MHO leadership team and provider to improve patient experience and quality of care. Aaron joined MHO in 2021 with nearly a decade of experience in healthcare consulting, serving health system and health provider clients nationwide. He has broad experience in process improvement, strategy and planning, and organizational transformation. Aaron received his bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame and his MBA from the University of Michigan.
