Sikander Ailawadhi

Professor of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Medicine, Mayo Clinic

Dr. Ailawadhi is a Professor with the Division of Hematology-Oncology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville and joined the Division in 2014 when he moved from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles where he was an academic faculty with Hematology. His career focus has been on treatment of plasma cell disorders, namely multiple myeloma and Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia, and also chronic lymphocytic leukemia. His research has focused on understanding the epidemiology and pathophysiology of these disorders, evaluating the benefit of various therapeutic strategies in different populations based on racial-ethnic and socioeconomic diversity, as well as developing novel therapeutics by means of conducting several regional and national clinical trials.  These have included phase 1 through phase 3 clinical trials for novel drugs including cellular therapy such as car T-cell treatment.  Dr. Ailawadhi has a special interest in understanding the disparities in care of cancer patients and their outcomes with a special focus on patients from different racial and ethnic backgrounds.  

Megan Bregel

Infusion Finance Supervisor, M Health Fairview

Megan Bregel is the Infusion Finance Supervisor for the M Health Fairview infusion centers. She currently oversees a team of 9 who assist patients with coverage for chemotherapy and specialty infusions. Megan has been with M Health Fairview Infusion Finance for 5 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science from St. Cloud State University. Additionally, for the past 13 years Megan has also worked casually for Allina Health Community Pharmacies as a nationally certified pharmacy technician.

Oncology Pharmacy Manager

M Health Fairview - Maple Grove

Dr. Hanna is board certified by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties in Oncology Pharmacy and Pharmacotherapy. He received his doctorate of pharmacy from Florida A&M University, completed his general residency at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, TN and his oncology residency at St. Luke's Mountain States Tumor Institute, Boise, ID. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and the Oncology Pharmacy Manager at M Health Fairview, Maple Grove.

Dr. Hanna’s research interests are focused on B-cell malignancies and genitourinary cancers. He has published over a dozen peer-reviewed manuscripts in various journals including Pharmacotherapy, AJHP, Drugs, JOPP, AJMC and JHOP. He is also an active member of the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association, Association of Community Cancer Centers, Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. 

Cheryl Hyk, CPhT

Oncology Pharmacy Liaison, M Health Fairview

Cheryl Hyk is the Oncology Pharmacy Liaison for M Health Fairview North Region in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She currently assists over 200 oral chemotherapy patients across three cancer care clinics. Cheryl has held this position for 2 years but has been in the pharmacy field for over 20. She holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, is a nationally certified pharmacy technician, and a member of several pharmacy associations. 

 

Catherine Johnson, PA-C, MMsc​

Physician Assistant, Emory Healthcare

Catherine Johnson, PA-C, MMsc, graduated from Emory University’s Physician Assistant program in December 2016 and in February 2017 accepted a PA position at Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University working in the Bone Marrow Transplant Department. Currently, she is the primary PA-C for two large plasma cell disorder clinics and also cares for patients undergoing both allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplant. 

Samantha Larson, PharmD

Samantha Larson is currently a Hematology/Oncology Clinical Pharmacist at M Health Fairview in Minnesota. She obtained her pharmacy degree from North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND. She completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN and her PGY-2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency at M Health Fairview in Minneapolis, MN.

Kathryn Maples received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy in 2015. She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice and PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residencies at Virginia Commonwealth University Health in Richmond, VA. Dr. Maples began her career as a clinical pharmacy specialist with the lymphoma/myeloma group at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in August 2017, and joined Emory Winship Cancer Institute as a myeloma clinical specialist in June 2019.  She is board certified in oncology pharmacy and her professional interests include clinical research in multiple myeloma, cellular therapy, and survivorship support.

Clinical Pharmacist, Specialty Pharmacy Oncology, UI Health Specialty Pharmacy Services

Christopher Schumpp, PharmD is currently the Clinical Pharmacist, Specialty Pharmacy Services, Ambulatory Pharmacy Services and a Clinical Instructor, Pharmacy Practice. Christopher works within a comprehensive specialty pharmacy that serves patients, employees, and students of the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System (UI Health), a major academic teaching institution on the near west side of Chicago.
