In the fourth webinar, we will hear from Gretchen Van Dyck, Financial Counselor from St. Vincent Hospital Regional Cancer Center and Rachelle Gill, Program/Department Coordinator II for Proton Therapy Appeals at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. Join us as we discuss radiation authorization submissions before treatment and strategies on how to work radiation authorization denials and appeals after treatment.

Gretchen Van Dyck
Financial Counselor
Green Bay Oncology
Gretchen Van Dyck has been with Green Bay Oncology for 12 years. In her role as a financial counselor, Van Dyck has worked with multiple departments, including medical, radiation, and gynecology oncology. Her responsibilities span from helping patients understand their insurance benefits and obtaining prior authorizations for treatment, imaging, prescriptions, and more to, most importantly, being an advocate for her patients in any way they need. The last thing Van Dyck wants is for her patients to worry about treatment-related costs or their insurance. She is excited to be a part of ACCC’s Financial Advocacy Network and will continue to work with ACCC to create resources and opportunities to support efforts in financial and patient advocacy.

Rachelle Gill
Program/Department Coordinator II for Proton Therapy Appeals
Fred Hutchison Cancer Center
Rachelle Gill is an Appeals Coordinator at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. In this role she works closely with each patient experiencing access to care barriers created by their insurance coverage policies. Rachelle has seen first-hand the reality of financial toxicity when her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017, and again in 2019 with ovarian cancer followed by a recurrence in 2021. She draws on this experience and her expertise to advocate for fair access to benefits for each patient she has the pleasure to serve. Rachelle Gill has been with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (formerly Seattle Cancer Care Alliance) since fall 2016.
